Quarterly Newsletter 04-2022

Dear Partners, Friends and Supporters of Fair Shea,

Our team and beneficiaries would like to wish you the best this New Year 2023. It is our hope  that this newsletter will help and motivate you create sustainable solutions to problems facing your community.

At Fair Shea, we are ensuring our interventions offer sustainable solutions such that beneficiaries can think creatively and develop ideas that will offer permanent solutions to their problems. All our interventions are tailored in a coordinated and comprehensive manner guided by our vision and mission. We are therefore happy to take you on a short, interesting tour of our activities during the fourth and last quarter of 2022.

We appreciate your support and partnerships in empowering and unearthing potentials within shea communities in Ghana. We wish you the very best in the 1st Quarter of 2023.

Thank you!

Implemented Activities

Graduation Ceremony For First Cohort Of Beneficiaries

Our first cohort of 30 beneficiaries completed an intensive 3-month hands-on training in making organic body and cosmetic products from raw shea butter. All clad in traditional outfits amid singing and dancing, beneficiaries received certificates of participation and have since been registered under the Yumzaa Fair Shea Women’s Cooperative making their own organic shea products.

First Training Center Project

The organization also completed renovation works on an abandoned structure which will now serve as a training center for all our trainings and events.

Exhibition Show

Our Team and Beneficiaries were privileged to be invited by the Shea Network Ghana for an exhibition event to display organic shea butter products beautifully hand crafted by our Beneficiaries. This offered opportunities to connect with organizations, individuals and vendors.

Upcoming Activities

Value Added Organic Shea Products Training For 64 Women

From January to April 2023, the organization will be training 64 women in making variety of organic body and cosmetic products from raw shea butter. Added to our list of training this time is making of cleaning disinfectant and antiseptic, air fresheners, pesticides, shampoos and conditioners.

Processing Center and Warehouse Project

Work on our new shea processing center and warehouse will commence. Upon completion of this project, members of our cooperative who struggle to find comfortable and hygienic places to process their shea butter will now be able to do so in an environmentally friendly location. Our beneficiaries will also be able to make their organic body and cosmetic products in a serene hygienic environment.

Stakeholder Engagements

Growth and development in the lives of the people and communities we serve, to us, is a collective responsibility. For this reason, we collaborate with people and organizations whose vision aligns with ours. Over the past months, we have engaged organizations like Guzakuza, ACDI/VOCA (Feed the Future), International Labour Organization (ILO), Savanna Fruits, School for Life, Youth Empowerment For Life, Card Financial NGO, AgroCenta, Sung Foundation and ALINEA all in our bid to explore sustainable ways to enhance social and economic change.
